eTerra Skid Steer Bar Tracks: Actual shipped color is Grey.
If you have shopped around, you will see many manufacturers with a style of track similar to these. The reason is performance. With a two bar track you get the features of being able to climb and push even in the muddiest of conditions. You also get a self cleaning feature which allows material to move out of your tracks as it accumulates. This makes running tracks much easier on your drive train and tires. Two bar tracks are ideal for nasty, narly mud conditions, but also forested areas where you are climbing up and over tree remnants. The traction is phenominal with this style of tracks. On our property, I run up and down a ravine in the back. It is steep and muddy. I would not dare to go down there without a 2 bar style track as I may never come back.
The price listed is for eTerra Terra-Traxx Bar Style Tracks designed for skid steer loaders with 12 x 16.5" tires. Your wheel base would be 41" or less. Because of the rising price of steel, we are no longer shipping tracks as a one size fits all. In many cases we were shipping extra pads that were not needed. That cost was shared by all through the price. Please pay attention to your wheel base as you will be expected to order the correct size for your machine and any missing pads will have to be re-purchased. If you cannot decide, just give us a call and we will be happy to size your tracks for your machine.
Your actual tread width can vary between 11" to 12".
Another company is the originator of this style of track and they hold the patent rights. We have licenced these rights from them so we know the design is solid. Most of the other manufacturers use this track as a basis for their designs. With the rising cost of steel, even the similar track manufacturers have had to raise their prices up to the levels of the major manufacturers. With that said, if you are paying roughly the same, you may as well own the original design. Terra-Traxx have a heavier bar and frame as well as their bushing system which is second to none. Your life expectancy is greater for just about the same price, so the choice is easy. Skid Steer Solutions always tries to provide the best price but more importantly, the best value. eTerra provides you with the features and value that you have come to depend on.
Please verify your actual tread width before ordering any tracks. You should also measure the distance between the sidewall of your tire and the frame. You should have 3" of clearance to be sure that the tracks will not contact the frame during tight turns. If you do not have 3" of clearance, check your wheels to see if you cannot turn them around. Many skid steer machines now have reversible rims that are off-set to allow you to add tracks without needing spacers.
If you do not have reversible off-set rims, then you will need to purchase spacers. These are available as an option on this page. Count the lugs on your wheels to be sure that you order the right spacers. Most machines use 8 bolt wheels while some older machines use 6 bolt.
NOTE: Another thing to look for is boom clearance. We have no way of knowing if you have exactly the right amount of clearance because of factors such as the height of your tires, the type of tread and the sidewall height. This is something you will need to check as well and be responsible for. Make sure that when you put the boom all of the way down, you have 2" of clearance around the boom. If you do not, you may still need spacers to give you enough clearance or a boom stop to keep the boom from coming all of the way down.
Boom stops are inexpensive, but they do create another problem. If you stop the boom from coming all of the way down, your bucket does not hit the ground flat which makes it hard to grade smoothly. The bucket usually has a strip on the front and rear that you run flush to the ground when grading. This makes your grading smoother and more accurate. Tracks and boom stops mess with this layout by raising the machine and boom up. You need to be aware of this as no track solution is absolutely perfect. If other dealers are not telling you this, it is because they want the sale without regards to what you really need. We try to pass on information here in the hopes you will still use our products but be much more informed.
